Andrée Putman

An international design star and winner of the National Grand Prize for Industrial Creation in 1995, Andrée Putman is instrumental in setting the tone in the field of interior architecture. Open to all forms of creation, she was the first to rediscover and publish the furniture of architects and designers from the 1930s such as Mallet-Stevens, Eileen Gray or Michel Dufet, and to promote contemporary creators like Sylvain Dubuisson, Olivier Gagnère, Patrick Naggar... Perfectly mastering light, Andrée Putman highlights a space with a simplicity that achieves the sublime, using unexpected materials, limiting color to black and white, gray, beige or blue. Faithful to her aesthetic commitments and attentive to changes in lifestyles, she has designed boutiques for Karl Lagerfeld, Azzedine Alaïa and Thierry Mugler, the offices of the Ministers of Culture and Finance, the CAPC of Bordeaux, the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen, and hotels such as the Morgans in New York, the Wasserturm in Cologne or Le Lac near Tokyo.
